Mr and Miss Juneteenth 2025 OP Scholarship Contest
The Mr. & Miss Juneteenth OP Scholarship Program is now open to Black sophomores, juniors and seniors who attend a high school in Johnson County. This annual contest celebrates the legacy and history of Juneteenth while providing scholarships to students who demonstrate leadership, community involvement, academic excellence, and a passion for advancing the cultural awareness of the African American community. The Circled In "NO Sweat" scholarship is worth $2,500. No income or GPA requirements and no long essay. Apply here by June 30th
Old Shawnee Days Pioneer Scholarship
The Old Shawnee Days Becky Nicks’ Junior Pioneer Scholarship essay contest is now open to all junior and senior Shawnee residents. One local high school student will receive a $1,000 college scholarship. For more information and to complete the application and 500 word essay on the topic “Adventure Awaits!” click here. Deadline to apply is May 2nd by 5 pm
Essay:
For your Psychology class, you are asked to create a bucket list that includes several adventures you would like to fulfill by the age of 50. Write a 500 word essay on 2 of these adventures. Describe what you would do, with whom (if any particular person), where, and why your chose these 2 adventures. To maintain privacy, please use only a title or title plus first name of the individual in your essay (e.g., Grandma, Grandpa Dave).
Central Christian College of Kansas Scholarship
This is a fantastic opportunity for students! They are offering $10,000 in scholarships, more than many private colleges in the state. This funding is stackable with their generous institutional scholarships making a private, 4-year education highly affordable. For more information go to their website.
JCCC STEM Scholarship
This is a perfect scholarship for students, especially incoming freshman, that have an interest in STEM fields (Biological Services, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Computer and Informational Sciences, Geosciences and Engineering) and pursuing a future transfer to a 4-year university after JCCC. AJ MCDONALD LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
The AJ McDonald Legacy Scholarship honors students who embody AJ's spirit of kindness, connection, joy and compassion. It differs from other scholarships in that an individual is nominating another to receive this award. Nominations can be submitted by any individual (friend, peer, neighbor, teacher, coach, or other) who has witnessed these qualities in a graduating senior and believes they are deserving of this award. Applications are available in the Counseling Office and can be turned in by May 1st. The recipient will receive a one-time award of $1,000.
Cameron Impact Scholarship
We are limited to accepting a total of 3,000 complete applications. Early application deadline is Wednesday, May 20, 2025. Need more information? Look here.

To qualify for The Balanced Man Scholarship, incoming students should submit an online application and enroll full-time at any of the institutions for the fall 2024 term (no essay required). Final deadlines vary by school, but the early application deadline for most scholarships is June 1 2025. Applications have no obligation to affiliate with or join SigEP to be eligible.
