GREAT PLAINS ASSOCIATION FOR COLLEGE ADMISSION COUNSELING SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Six scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded each year.  Students must meet all of the following scholarship requirements listed below:
  • Be a member of the 2025-26 class
  • Attend high school in Kansas, Nebraska or Oklahoma
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Complete the application form including the essay on the topic below
ESSAY TOPIC:  What is a lesson you learned during high school and how will that lesson impact your future?
Scholarship application open October 15th and closes February 15th.

K-State Alumni Association Scholarship Opportunity 
The K-State Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Wabash CannonBall Committee, will be awarding 55 - $2,500 scholarships to incoming K-State freshmen from the Kansas City Metro Area. Students are required to apply online here. This application in no way replaces the general university’s admission application or other forms of financial assistance.

2026 PROFILE IN COURAGE ESSAY CONTEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
In Profiles in Courage, John F. Kennedy recounted the stories of eight U.S. Senators who put the nation's interests about their own.  They were guided by integrity and conscience, not party pressure or fear of losing the next election.  Here's your chance to write the next profile in courage!
CONTEXT TOPIC - Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U. S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year of JFK's birth.  Deadline for submission is January 12, 2026.  First place price is $10,000; Second place is $3,000; Three finalists receive $1,000 each.  For more information go to this link.

Water One Foundation Scholarship Program
This is a $1,500 one-time non-renewable award that will be given to one high school senior with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Must attend an accredited four-year university, community college or vocational school with a field of study in Environmental Science, Engineering, Water Policy & Governance or Water Management. ​FOLEY EQUIPMENT  Diesel Technician Internship
Earn while you learn!  Foley Equipment is proudly partnering with Caterpillar and select technical colleges to offer a paid internship program called ThinkBIG where high school graduates can:
  • Earn an Associates of Science degree

The 2026 Rudd Foundation Scholarship
We’re excited to share that the Rudd Scholarship application opens October 1 for Kansas high school seniors. This competitive scholarship is a 4-year full ride and a life-changing opportunity that connects students with a supportive community, mentors, and resources to help them thrive in college and beyond!

Seven Days of Kindness Action Scholarship

The Seven Days of Kindness Action Scholarship is open to all graduating seniors. This scholarship awards $1,000 to students who take action to spread kindness in their communities. Please go to www.sevendays.org for more information. The Deadline to apply is January 9, 2026.


Cynthia Ruth Russell Scholarship 



Cynthia Ruth Russell Scholarship Criteria (Up to $5,000)
Award amounts depend on the number of applicants.
Applications will be accepted from December 1st – February 15th.
You must reapply each year to be eligible for a scholarship.
Criteria for All Cynthia Ruth Russell Scholarships
Be a Kansas resident
Be living with a disability (as defined by the World Health Organization)
Have an acceptance letter from the university/college or a copy of a current college transcript
Be enrolled in 12 credit hours per semester
Demonstrate a financial need
Be attending one of the identified/eligible four-year Kansas universities OR one of the two-year Kansas technical/community colleges on our
website


The Kelly Lynn Lutz Memorial Scholarship Foundation

The KLL Memorial Foundation was established to provide scholarships and financial assistance for students and families suffering from cancer related illnesses. Students pursuing secondary education are eligible for up to a 4 year scholarship if are have lost a parent or caretaker to cancer. This is a $2,500 annual scholarship at the secondary school of your choice. The deadline to apply is January 10, 2026. Open to students only in the Kansas City Metro area. For more information go to

Kansas Arborists Association Scholarship


This scholarship may be awarded to two students who have an interest in the field of Arboriculture, Woody Ornamental Horticulture or Park Management. The Scholarship Application should included the following:
  • Student Name
  • Permanent Mailing Address

  • Current Resume
  • University Transcript
  • A short essay not to exceed 750 words detailing: How you would advocate for your future Horticultural/Arboricultural plans; A statement of why you should receive this award including financial needs; Your favorite woody shrub /tree and why

Greater KC Crime Stoppers & KC Metro Chiefs and Sheriffs present our $2,000 Essay Contest Scholarship Opportunity



The winners, one from Missouri and one from Kansas, will each receive a $2,000 scholarship. The high school student must be a senior of good character with no criminal background to be eligible.
Each student entered must submit a typed essay of 750 to 1,000 words on this topic:
Use of AI technology in the classrooms - Overused or not?
The application should be mailed together in time to arrive at the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission’s office by February 28, 2026



Emporia State University Scholarship Library
​Emporia State University has over one thousand scholarships available in their Scholarship Library!! Any admitted student can now fill out the 26-27 general scholarship application. The priority date to submit the general scholarship applications is December 1st for students to be eligible for the most scholarship opportunities. ESU also has some “big name” opportunities that can significantly reduce the cost of tuition. Check out the opportunities here
